This is our shortest route that combines a serious Serengeti sector with Ngorongoro without wasting the first day on a long road transfer from Arusha.
Flying in and driving out also avoids repeating the same transport corridor.

Zanzibar hotel → Zanzibar Airport → Serengeti
Private hotel pickup, airport transfer and scheduled flight to the best available Serengeti airstrip for the booked lodge. Guide meets you airside/at the strip and the safari begins immediately on the drive to camp.
Serengeti full safari day
Private sunrise-to-sunset or split-drive day depending on wildlife, guest energy and lodge location. We do not force a standard route: central kopjes, river valleys, predator zones or migration sectors are chosen from current conditions.
Serengeti game drive → Ngorongoro Highlands
Morning wildlife time before the route gradually turns southeast toward Ngorongoro. Scenic overland transition, optional Olduvai/cultural stop only if it genuinely fits the day, then lodge arrival before dark.
Ngorongoro Crater → onward connection
Early crater descent, private game drive and picnic lunch. After climbing out, transfer to Arusha/JRO. If your wider holiday requires a Zanzibar return, we build the appropriate air/road connection rather than assuming a same-day flight exists.

Outbound Zanzibar→Serengeti flight is core to this itinerary. Final connection can be Arusha/JRO or planned onward Zanzibar routing according to timetable.
